City
Manager: Earlene M. Teaster
Ms. Teaster serves as City Manager.
As the city’s administrative officer since 1981 she oversees
the daily operations of nine departments through the departmental directors;
resolves citizen issues; advises on and implements the policies of the five
members Board of Commissioners; recommends annual operating and long-range
capital budgets with the assistance of the city staff; and provides liaison with
State government. She ensures that
municipal services are efficiently provided for a population that is both
permanent and transient due to tourism.
She seeks to ensure that annual operating budgets totaling $31 million
are managed in a manner that achieves the goals and objectives of the Board of
Commissioners.
Ms.
Teaster was the first female city manager in the state of Tennessee.
She received the “City Manager of the Year” award in 2000.
She
was a member of the first Leadership Sevier Class and currently serves on the
Board of Directors for this organization. She
represents the city of Pigeon Forge as a member of county-wide boards, Sevier
Water Board, Sevier Transportation Board, and the Solid Waste Board.
She
and her husband Glen, have 2 sons Steve and Phil and 5 grandchildren.
